The gold and blue circular emblem of Government College of Engineering, Karad (GCEK) features a shield with the motifs of a bridge, a micrometer screwgauge, an open book, and a glowing sun, with a radiating star cresting the shield. The name of the college surmounts the shield and its motto ‘Truth Endurance Perfection’ supports it. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the radiating star suggests enlightenment, innovation, and the pursuit of excellence; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; and the other motifs refer to the subject disciplines of engineering.

INDIAN GRAPE PROCESSING BOARD Keeping the above in mind and to co-ordinate the efforts for promotion and development of the wine industry in India in close association with industry, producers and other stakeholders, the Union Cabinet in its meeting held on January 2, 2009 gave its approval for the establishment of the Indian Grape Processing Board (IGPB) under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The Board has its headquarters in Pune, Maharashtra that is close to the principal grape growing and processing areas in the country.
