Below the motifs, the name of the college is written and the assemblage is supported by a pair of laurels. The book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the gearwheel and USB symbol denotes engineering and technology; the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the laurels are are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; and the human reaching for stars symbolises high ambition, aspiration, and the pursuit of lofty goals, dreams, and success. It can also symbolise hope, striving for excellence, achieving the impossible, and personal growth.
