The pictorial emblem of Marathwada Mitra Mandal's Institute of Technology (MMIT) features a line drawing of the mural of Bodhisattva Padmapani from the Cave 1 of Ajanta Caves. Ajanta Caves, which date back to the 5th century, with an arch from the same period supported by the letter ‘M’ denoting the name of the college. The motto of the college in Marathi ‘येथे बहतांचे हित’ meaning ‘Welfare of the Masses’ is inscribed at the bottom.

KALINGA INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) was established in 1992 as a vocational training centre with two staff and twelve students. KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans.
