J.T.MAHAJAN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
(JTMCOE) |
The emblem of T.M.E. Society's J.T.Mahajan College of Engineering (JTMCoE) features a falcon with its wings spread supporting a semicircle housing the motifs of a set of laboratory equipment, a water dam, a factory, a computer, and a transmission tower ensconced by a border inscribed with the name, place and year of establishment of the college. The semicircle is surmounted by a sun inscribed with the initials of the managing society. On a banner placed below the falcon, the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ is written. The falcon symbolises ambition, freedom, vision, power, victory, and spiritual guidance; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; and the other motifs denote the subject disciplines of engineering.
