MADRAS CHRISTIAN COLLEGE (MCC)

The emblem of Madras Christian College (MCC) features a shield housing the motif of an anchor in water crested by three fingers raised in blessing, and supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Latin ‘In Hoc Signo‘(Constantine the Great (AD 274-337), the first Christian emperor of Rome) meaning ‘With This On Your Banner, You Will Win!’ The anchor signifies firmness, something on which to rely in times of turbulence. The upper part of the anchor takes the form of a cross. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery.
