The colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty; and gold denotes wealth, prosperity, power, prestige and achievement.

KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans.
