The seal is ensconced by a violet border inscribed with the letters ‘SVS’ and the name and place of the college. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘उध्दरेदात्मनात्मानम्’ (6.5, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Let A Man Be Lifted Up By His Own Self’ is inscribed on the bottom portion of the border, with the year of establishment of the college written below. A pair of red hands support the seal. The lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
