The motto of the college ‘Pursuing Excellence’ is written above the hat. Below the seal, on a blue banner, the name of the college is written. The gearwheel denotes technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the atom refers to science and technology; the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the book refers to education, knowledge, learning and wisdom; and the leaves symbolise renewal, hope, and fertility, or growth and vitality.

INDIAN GRAPE PROCESSING BOARD Keeping the above in mind and to co-ordinate the efforts for promotion and development of the wine industry in India in close association with industry, producers and other stakeholders, the Union Cabinet in its meeting held on January 2, 2009 gave its approval for the establishment of the Indian Grape Processing Board (IGPB) under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The Board has its headquarters in Pune, Maharashtra that is close to the principal grape growing and processing areas in the country.
