The emblem of Maryland Institute of Technology & Management, Jamshedpur (MDITM) features a circular seal divided into four quadrants, which directly adopts elements from the Maryland state flag and the University of Maryland sea with the founding family of Maryland, the Calvert family colours with gold and black checkered patterns; the Crossland family colours with red and white bottony cross pattern representing the Crossland family, the maternal side of the Calvert line. The overall central part has a convex, circular shape, symbolising unity and the centrality of its educational mission. A dark brown or gold outer frame contains the full name of the institution written in a clean sans-serif typeface. A horizontal gold bar at the bottom features the initials MITM, serving as a solid foundation for the emblem.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

The name of the college and its motto are written in Devanagari on a circular border around the motifs.
