College, Nirsha, Dhanbad (KSGM College) features a rising sun above the mountains, its motto in Sanskrit from Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’, a structural tower, an open book and a hoe ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the tower symbolises science and technology, the hoe refers to agriculture, the book is a universal symbol for learning, education and the spread of knowledge.

The central motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents crested with a flaming torch, supported by an open book and a pair of laurels replace the Lion Capital; and the name, place and motto of the college replace the name of the State. The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’. The Staff of Caduceus symbolises medicine and medical profession; the book symbolises the accumulation and dissemination of medical knowledge and the academic foundation of the institution; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols, which represent victory, honour and academic excellence.

TAMILNADU POLICE In 1659 Pedda Naik was engaged by the British to Guard the town of Madraspatanam with the assistance of peons. The system was the remnant of the ‘Kaval’ organization. Board of Police constituted by the then Governor Josios DuPre to deal with removal of public nuisance and maintenance of public health and order in 1770. In 1856 Police Act XII was passed by Legislative Council of the Governor General. J.C. Boudlerson became the first Commissioner of Police under the new Act. GOVERNMENT WOMEN'S POLYTECHNIC, RANCHI (GWP RANCHI) The emblem of Government Women's Polytechnic, Ranchi (GWP Ranchi) features a green three-leaf clover (Triquetra Shape) with its lobe  inscribed with the motifs of a desktop computer, a drawing tool and a transmission tower. An orbital pattern is placed at the centre on a red traditional lamp. These are circumscribed by the name and place of the college. A black circle ensconces all the elements. The orbital pattern or atom represents basic sciences, nuclear or atomic structure, and the analytical logic that grounds all technical engineering programmes; the lamp symbolises the enlightenment of knowledge over ignorance, while its upward flame signifies continuous growth, progress and the career advancement of women in technology; and the other motifs represent foundational branches of engineering and modern technology taught at the college.
