The emblem of Government Degree College, Kokernag (GDC Kokernag) features a green shield with red outlines houses the short name of the college ‘GDC Kokernag’, Arabic text from Quran ‘مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ’, which traslates to ‘From Darkness Into Light’ and motifs of a two five-pointed stars, stalks of paddy, a trout fish, the landscape of Kokernag with snow capped mountains and pine trees depicting the majestic Himalayan landscape surrounding the college, the winding stream/spring representing the famous botanical gardens and natural springs of Kokernag. The shield represents protection, honour and institutional strength, housing the values of the college; the twin stars symbolise excellence, guidance and high achievements that students are encouraged to reach; the tout fish of Kokernag refers to the place’s trout fisheries; and the stalk of paddy represent agriculture, fertility and growth.
