The emblem of Ramgovind Institute of Technology, Koderma (RIT Koderma) features a yellow, red and blue shield housing the motifs of a transmission tower, a stack of books supporting a traditional lamp, a computer, a set of three gear wheels and a set of three power symbols. Above the shield, on a banner, a pair of laurels and a five-pointed star is inscribed. Below the shield, on a banner, the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘आप्नुहि श्रेयांसमति सर्व काम’ (Sukta 11, Kand 2, Atharva Veda) translating to ‘Surpass Those of Equal Strength and Advance to A Higher Position’. At the bottom, the tagline of the college ‘Discipline & Obedience’ is written. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the book is a classic symbol of knowledge, wisdom and the institute's dedication to learning; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the star signifies excellence and high aspirations; the laurels represent honour and academic achievement; and the other motifs refer to the subject disciplines of science, engineering and technology.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

GIRIDIH COLLEGE, GIRIDIH The emblem of Giridih College, Giridih features a circle with four panels housing the motifs of a banyan tree, rising sun, a miner with a pickaxe and a range of mountains supported by a pair of stalks of grain. The name of the college and its motto are written in Devanagari on a circular border around the motifs.
