The emblem of Imam-ul-Haq Khan Law College, Bokaro Steel City (IHKLC Bokaro) features a green circle housing the motifs of a two pan beam balance, a quill pen, Arabic calligraphy and a star. The circle is ensconced by a red circular border inscribed with the name of the college’s managing body. The scales are the scales of justice representing fairness, balance and impartiality in the legal process; the quill pen represents the power of the written word, scholarship, and the pursuit of knowledge; the calligraphy reads ’إمام الحي’ translates to ‘Leader of the Living’ reflecting the institution's Islamic cultural heritage and its namesake; the star-like geometry signifies guidance, excellence and high aspirations for its students; the colour green represents peace, growth and traditional Islamic values; and red symbolises strength, vitality and the passion for justice.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
