The emblem of Government Polytechnic, Kharsawan (GP Kharsawan) features a shield inscribed with the motifs of a set of electrical transmission towers with lines, a diagram of an atom, a dish antenna and a computer. The shield is surmounted by a banner inscribed with the name and place of the college and supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘विद्या ददाति विनयात् श्रेयस्’ (Narayan Pandit, 6, Hitopadesha) meaning ‘Education Makes one Humble’. The motifs in the oval refer to the subject disciplines of engineering and technology being taught in the college; and the shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery.

The central motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents crested with a flaming torch, supported by an open book and a pair of laurels replace the Lion Capital; and the name, place and motto of the college replace the name of the State. The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’. The Staff of Caduceus symbolises medicine and medical profession; the book symbolises the accumulation and dissemination of medical knowledge and the academic foundation of the institution; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols, which represent victory, honour and academic excellence.

These are circumscribed by the name and place of the college and its year of establishment. These are ensconced by circular outlines in red and orange. The lotus and the humans represent purity, resilience and growth.
