Roy Memorial College, Dhanbad (PKRMC) features a rising sun above waters, a blooming lotus, an ink pot with a quill pen and its motto in Sanskrit from Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’ ensconced by a yellow circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. Below the seal, the year of establishment of the college is written. The sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; and the quill pen and the ink pot is an iconic motif symbolizing knowledge, creativity and the act of creation.
