The emblem of Godda College, Godda features a traditional lamp supported by an open book and a swan on water and ensconced by a floral circular border and its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्याधनं सर्वधनप्रधानम्’ (Niti Satakam, Bhartihari ) meaning ‘Wealth of Education is the Supreme of all the Wealth’. The name of the college is written in Devanagari and English and its year of establishment is written on the ensconcing circular border. A five-pointed star and a diagram of an atom also are placed on the border. The lamp represents the light of knowledge, enlightenment and the removal of ignorance; the book refers to education, knowledge, learning and wisdom; the swans are sacred and are symbols of grace and beauty; the flowers are representative of the State of Jharkhand; the star or pentagram represents the five elements, humanity and the cosmos; and the atomic diagram refers to science.
