The motifs of satellite, dish antennas, gearwheel and a computer refer to the subject disciplines of engineering and technology; the numerals ‘300’ in orange serve as a distinct regional or historical marker embedded within the core layout; the laurels represent peace, honours, academic distinction and victory through intellectual growth; the vivid orange ring represents vitality, creativity and energetic youth, balanced by the deep navy blue border which projects institutional authority, trust and structural stability.

GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC, RANCHI (GP RANCHI) The purple emblem of Government Polytechnic, Ranchi (GP Ranchi) features a gearwheel housing the motifs of a factory with chimneys, mining towers and trees. UNIVERSITY OF JAMMU The University of Jammu (UoJ) came into existence in 1969 through the Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act 1969 following bifurcation of the erstwhile University of Jammu and Kashmir. The circular emblem of the university has an open book supporting a lotus with a background of mountains and surmounted by atomic structure. These are ensconced by a yellow circular border which carries its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ on one side and its name in Kashmiri on the other side.
