The emblem of Chandil Polytechnic features a shield housing the orange and green motifs of an electronic circuit, a glowing light bulb, a mortarboard hat and a pair of gear wheels supported by a pair of blue hands. The shield is supported by a pair of laurels and the initials ‘JIS’ and name of the managing group. The motto of the college is written on a blue banner placed above the shield. The name of the college surmounts the assemblage. The motto in Sanskrit ‘नियतं कुरु कर्मत्वं (Verse 8, Chapter 3, Bhagavad Gita), which translates to ‘Perform Your Prescribed/Bounden Duty’. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the light bulb symbolises a new idea, sudden inspiration and human intelligence; the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; and the motifs symbolise science, engineering and technology.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITY Uttaranchal University has come a long way since its inception in 2013 providing world class multidisciplinary education. The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’. The logo of the university has a blue and green abstract pictorial of ‘U’ and on its right a wordmark of its name in capitals thin serif letters with smooth transition of strokes. The counter of the ‘U’ is filled blue and a stroke of blue and green flows across diagonally from left to right top. This is further cut out by another ‘U’ at the top right corner. The colour blue represents serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour green denotes life, production, fertility, agriculture, environment and nature. The logo is modern, trendy and attractive.
