The variation of the Staff of Caduceus is the universal symbol of the medical profession, healing and healthcare delivery; the flaming torch symbolises the enlightenment of knowledge, hope, and the dedicated spirit of the medical community to eradicate disease and ignorance; The mountain peaks refer to the snow-capped Himalayan mountain peaks, which are scenic in high-altitude setting of the Kangra Valley in Himachal Pradesh where the institute is nestled; the rivers flowing down from the mountains signify life, purity, and the natural landscape of the region and refers to the local rivers of Beas and its tributaries in the Kangra region.
