The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad), which translates ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ is written on a red ribbon placed below the star. The star is ensconced by blue circular outlines. The torch with flames is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the book symbolises knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and cyan star symbolizes mental clarity, technological precision and higher cosmic awareness.
