SHER-E-KASHMIR COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, JAMMU (SEKCE JAMMU)

The emblem of Sher-e-Kashmir College of Education, Jammu (SEKCE Jammu) features a oval housing the motifs of an open book with radiating sunrays with a backdrop of peaks of mountain range supported by a lotus, a satellite, a dish antenna and a desktop computer. The book is the universal symbol of continuous learning, literacy, knowledge dissemination and academic pursuit. The lotus symbolises purity, spiritual growth, enlightenment and resilience. The rays of sun emerging upward from behind the open book are mirroring the traditional Indian motif of a lamp's flame. This signifies enlightenment - the power of education to dispel the darkness of ignorance. The satellite, satellite dish and computer monitor are symbols of technology—a satellite dish on the left and a computer on the right. These elements represent modernity, digital education, global connectivity and technical adaptation in modern teacher training. The inner ring around the motifs are inscribed with the name of the institution and its place. Curving along the bottom border is the college's guiding ethos ‘Education for Selfless Service’. This emphasises that learning is not merely for individual gain but for societal upliftment and altruism. The block at the absolute base reads ‘PPET’, anchoring the emblem to its managing body, the Pir Panchal Educational Trust.
