The brown colour emblem of K J Somaiya Institute of Technology (KJSIEIT) features a motif of  a traditional lamp supported by the name of the managing Trust and surmounted by the Institute’s motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानादेव तु कैवल्यम्’ (Pañcadaśī, verse 9.97, by Vidyaranya) and in English ‘Knowledge Alone Liberates’. The traditional lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity. The name of the Trust and the college are written on the right.
