Within the entrance a shield inscribed with the motifs representing different disciplines of engineering is placed. The central building depicted in the logo is the institute's heritage building, which was constructed in 1887. This building is a prominent symbol of the institute's long-standing legacy and history. The year of establishment of the college is written below the pictorial. The oval border ensconcing the pictorial is inscribed with the name and place of the college.

KALINGA INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) was established in 1992 as a vocational training centre with two staff and twelve students. KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure.
