COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
(KGCE) |
The red circular emblem of Konkan Gyanpeeth College of Engineering (KGCE) features a Saraswati Yantra surmounted by the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानदीपेन भास्वताः’ (Shloka 66, Chapter 18, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘I Will Absolve Thee From All Thy Sin’ placed on a six-petalled lotus supported by a nib of a pen and an open book and ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name in Devanagari and English. The six-petalled lotus is primarily associated with the sacral chakra (Svadhishthana), symbolising six negative qualities that must be overcome: anger, hatred, jealousy, cruelty, pride, and desire. The Saraswati Yantra is a sacred geometric symbol representing Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, music, arts, and wisdom. Its core elements, such as the central bindu (point), triangles, and circles, symbolise the divine source of energy, transformation, and unity. The nib of a pen symbolises freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence; and the book refers to learning, education, education and wisdom.
