The orbiting ring is a powerful and multifaceted symbol representing themes of eternity, divinity, cyclicality, and cosmic order; and the colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

16 CORPS The 16 Corps is a corps of the Indian Army raised on June 1, 1972. It has its headquarters at Nagrota Cantonment, Nagrota, Jammu district, Jammu and Kashmir. In 2005 IX Corps (India) was raised in part of the 16 Corps' area, taking over two of its divisions. It is headquartered at at Yol. Engineering education in BHU started in 1919 with the establishment of Banaras Engineering College (BENCO). The next stage of development saw the establishment of College of Technology (TECHNO) and College of Mining & Metallurgy (MINMET).
