KOPPAL UNIVERSITY

The seal of Koppal University features an open book crested by a traditional lamp, placed on a pedestal and ensconced by a decorated octagon placed in a circle. This assemblage is circumscribed by a black border inscribed with the name of the university in Kannada and English. A motif of Dharmaraya Swamy Temple of Lal Bagh crests the seal; a pair of laurels supports on the sides and a brown banner inscribed with its motto in Kannada ‘ಜ್ಞಾನ – ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ – ವಿಕಾಸ’ meaning ‘Knowledge – Resources – Development’ supports at the bottom. The book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
