The emblem of Rural Engineering College (REC) features a shield housing the motifs of  a gearwheel, an open book, a motif of DNA, a laboratory flask, a sun on a platform, a pair of connected hexagons, and a scientific tool crested on the left top by a banner inscribed with the name of the managing society and supported by a banner inscribed with the name of the college. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the other motifs refer to the subject disciplines of engineering.

The central motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents crested with a flaming torch, supported by an open book and a pair of laurels replace the Lion Capital; and the name, place and motto of the college replace the name of the State. The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’. The Staff of Caduceus symbolises medicine and medical profession; the book symbolises the accumulation and dissemination of medical knowledge and the academic foundation of the institution; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols, which represent victory, honour and academic excellence.
