The emblem of Vijaya Vittala Institute of Technology (VVIT) features a an open book supporting a traditional lamp circumscribed by a pair of laurels and a banner inscribed with its motto in Sanskrit ‘विज्ञान ज्ञान सहितम्’ (Shloka 1, Chapter 9, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘Experience Combined with Knowledge’ is placed on a yellow circle ensconced by a black circular border bearing the name and place of the college. The book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

The central motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents crested with a flaming torch, supported by an open book and a pair of laurels replace the Lion Capital; and the name, place and motto of the college replace the name of the State. The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’. The Staff of Caduceus symbolises medicine and medical profession; the book symbolises the accumulation and dissemination of medical knowledge and the academic foundation of the institution; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols, which represent victory, honour and academic excellence.
