VIVEKANANDA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY (VCET)

The emblem of Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology (VCET) features a gearwheel placed on a yellow circle holding the portrait of Swami Vivekananda supported by a traditional lamp. The name of the college and its motto in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं’ (Chapter 4, verse 38 of the Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World, There is Nothing as Pure and Virtuous as the Pursuit of Knowledge’ are written around the gearwheel. On an orange banner placed below the circle, the name and place of the managing Trust is written. Swami Vivekananda is one of the greatest modern Indian thinkers, a prominent philosopher, social reformer, and the most successful proponent of Hinduism. The gearwheel denotes engineering, technology, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; and the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
