The seal of BMS Institute of Technology and Management (BMSIT) features a grey circle holding the motifs of an electrical transmission tower, a diagram of an atom, a satellite, a computer, a pair of satellite dish antennas and structural bridge, ensconced by a blue circle inscribed with the name and place of the college and a gearwheel. Below the seal, on a banner, the motto of the college in Kannada ‘ನಹಿ ಜ್ಞಾನೇನ ಸದೃಶಂ’ (Chapter 4, verse 38 of the Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this World, There is Nothing as Pure and Virtuous as the Pursuit of Knowledge’ is inscribed.

In 2005 IX Corps (India) was raised in part of the 16 Corps' area, taking over two of its divisions. It is headquartered at at Yol. DOORDARSHAN 1959 Doordarshan (DD) is an autonomous public service broadcaster founded by the Government of India, which is one of two divisions of Prasar Bharati. Engineering education in BHU started in 1919 with the establishment of Banaras Engineering College (BENCO). The next stage of development saw the establishment of College of Technology (TECHNO) and College of Mining & Metallurgy (MINMET).
