SIDDAGANGA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (SIT)

The emblem of Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT) features a raging bull with a backdrop of range of mountains placed on a shield, surmounted by its motto in Kannada ‘ಕಾಯಕವೇ ಕೈಲಾಸ’ and supported by ‘Work is Worship’. This assemblage is placed inside a circular gearwheel inscribed with the name of the Institute. On a banner, below the seal, the place of the college is written and below the banner, the initials of the college ‘SSES’ is written. In Veerashaiva philosophy, the raging bull, often represented by Nandi, symbolises unwavering devotion, strength, and loyalty to Lord Shiva. Nandi, as Shiva's mount and devotee, embodies the ideal of a faithful servant who is always present to serve and protect his lord. The image of the bull also represents masculinity, virility, and the power of nature. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; and the gearwheel signifies technology and engineering, representing the institute's focus on technical education.
