The emblem of CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) features a swan on the waters with the initials ‘CMRIT’ of the college written on the right. The name of the college and its status are written below. The swan is surmounted by the words’Celebrating 25 Years’ and five stars. The swan is the carrier of Goddess Saraswati - the Goddess of Learning. It is said that the swan with its sensitive beak has the power of discrimination - an ability to distinguish pure milk from a mixture of milk and water. The swan thus symbolises discrimination between right and wrong, good and evil or the eternal and the transient. It is this ability to acquire and apply knowledge in a discerning manner, for the overall good of mankind, which closely aligns with the university’s ethos. Rooted in Indian tradition, this contemporary form of the hamsa the swan, wholly embodies the vision of CMR University.

RAJENDRA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (RIMS) The emblem of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) is directly adapted from the State Emblem of the State of Jharkhand. The central motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents crested with a flaming torch, supported by an open book and a pair of laurels replace the Lion Capital; and the name, place and motto of the college replace the name of the State. The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’. The Staff of Caduceus symbolises medicine and medical profession; the book symbolises the accumulation and dissemination of medical knowledge and the academic foundation of the institution; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols, which represent victory, honour and academic excellence.
