The blue emblem of Moodlakatte Institute of Technology (MIT) features the initials ‘MIT’ of the college in extrabold serif capitals supported by the name of the place of the college and supporting the motifs of an open book, a traditional lamp, and a gearwheel. The pages of the book are inscribed with the motto of the college in Kannada ‘ಸತ್ಯಂ ವದ ಧರ್ಮಂ ಚರ’ (1:11Taittiriya Upanishad 1:11) meaning ‘Speak the truth, abide by Dharma (righteousness)’. The gearwheel denotes engineering and technical studies; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom.
