The brown colour emblem of Government Engineering College, Ramanagara (GECR) features a shield holding the motifs of a building; a set of spannersandagearwheel; a microprocessor chip; and a computer alongwith the monogram of ‘GEC’. The shield is surmounted by a brown banner inscribed with its name’GEC Ramanagaram’ and supported by its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; and the other motifs refer to the disciplines of engineering.
