The circular emblem of University BDT College of Engineering (UBDTCE) features a gearwheel holding the motif of a lighthouse above waters superscribed by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं (पवित्रमिह विद्यते)’ (Shloka 38, Chapter 4, Srimad Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘In this ‘World there Exists (No Purifier Comparable to Knowledge)’.  The gear wheel is inscribed with the name and place of the college. The gearwheel denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; and the lighthouse refers to guidance, safety and resilience.
