The green colour emblem of Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) features a shield housing a pair of gear wheels supported on sides by a pair of laurels on sides; crested by a banner inscribed with the name of the college and supported by a banner inscribed with the tagline of the college ‘Technology for Prosperity’. The top gearwheel houses the image of a farmer and the bottom gearwheel features a factory, an electrical transmission line, a dam, and a satellite dish antenna. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the gear wheels denote interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; and the other motifs refer to the subject disciplines of engineering.
