Below the shield, on a red banner the motto of the college ‘Arise and Awake’ is inscribed. The shield  denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the wheel symbolises motion, dynamism and perpetuity; the cattle refers to agriculture and farmer, the person with mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom.

UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITY Uttaranchal University has come a long way since its inception in 2013 providing world class multidisciplinary education. The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’. The logo of the university has a blue and green abstract pictorial of ‘U’ and on its right a wordmark of its name in capitals thin serif letters with smooth transition of strokes. The counter of the ‘U’ is filled blue and a stroke of blue and green flows across diagonally from left to right top. This is further cut out by another ‘U’ at the top right corner. The colour blue represents serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour green denotes life, production, fertility, agriculture, environment and nature. The logo is modern, trendy and attractive.
