This assemblage is supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘அறிவு ஒழுக்கம் கடமை’ meaning ‘Knowledge Discipline Duty’. The lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.
