The shield-shaped emblem of C. Kandaswami Naidu College For Men (CKNC) features the motifs of an entrance facade, a torch with flame with ‘Knowledge’ written on and a lotus on water; supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Latin ‘Mens Agitat Molem’ meaning ‘Mind Moves Matter (line 727, Book VI, Virgil's Aeneid); and crested by a raising sun. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the facade symbolises a threshold between the outer, profane world and the inner, sacred or private space; the torch with flame denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; and the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty.

The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. All these are ensconced in two circular borders, of which one carries its name and place in English and the outer one carries its name and place in Devanagari supported by a pair of wheat ears.
