The blue colour circular emblem of SVST Kongunad Arts and Science College (SVST KASC) features abstract images of a human with with referring to illuminated awakening of knowledge; a nib of a pen with an openbook and a mortarboard hat referring to hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; and an open book supporting a tree of humans referring to the benefits of education, learning, knowledge and wisdom. The motifs are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college and its motto 'Hard Work Persistence Success’. Below the seal, on a banner, the tagline of the college ‘Emrich to Enlighten’ is inscribed.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
