The emblem of Valliammai Women’s College (VWC) features a blue circle with a lotus supporting a traditional lamp, an open book ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. A pair of laurels support the seal. Below the seal, on a yellow banner the motto of the college is inscribed. The lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to education, learning and wisdom; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

KALINGA INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) was established in 1992 as a vocational training centre with two staff and twelve students. KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans.
