NO. 12 SQUADRON

The No.12 Squadron, RIAF was the only squadron at the time of Independence operating transport aircraft. Equipped with the venerable Douglas Dakota, the Squadron had the distinction of flying many of the legendary flights that saved Kashmir for India. The Squadron was initially under the command of Wg Cdr K L Bhatia. The Squadron’s motto is ‘Amit Vikram’ meaning ‘Boundles Valour’. This Squadron is also called ‘Yaks’. Its insignia has a yak in the centre.

Muzaffarnagar Medical College (MMC) is offering courses in medical science leading to the degree of MBBS. Its emblem is an orange squircle with its acronym ‘Cmm’ as a monogram in white, light blue and violet colours. It is supported by its motto in Sanskrit ‘सर्वाणी स्वास्थ्य मूलम्’ meaning ‘Health is the Root of Everything’. On the top right corner is the Rod of Aesculapius (also called Asklepios), the ancient mythical god of medicine. Asklepios may have been a real person who was renowned for his gentle remedies and humane treatment of the mentally ill.

No. 15 Squadron NO 15 SQUADRON The No. 15 Squadron of Indian Air Force was formed on August 2, 1951 at Ambala. In 1983, the ‘Flying Lances’ were the first MiG-21 Bis squadron in the Air Force to be modified for the Matra Magic R55, air to air missiles. The squadron was again number plated in 2009 and re-raised in 2012 on the Su-30 at Sirsa AFS. The No. 15 Squadron’s motto is ‘Nihantavya Shatava’ meaning ‘Annihilate the Enemy’. This Squadron is also called ‘Flying Lances’. Its insignia has a flying lancer in the centre with a ball of fire background. It currently operates the Mikoyan MiG-21 from Jodhpur.

The emblem of the college has the motifs of a traditional lamp supported by a red cross at the bottom and a pair of blue lions on the sides. These are placed above the acronym of its name. All theses are ensconced in a yellow circular border which bears the name and place of the college. Below this on a border its motto 'Knowledge is Power’ is written.
