The name of the university is written at the bottom. The sun refers to life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; and planets refer to the reach and scope of the university in spreading education and the humans refer to the beneficiaries of the university. The yellow ochre is the colour of life, wisdom, eternity, gold, fertility, and the sun.

At the bottom, a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘‘கற்றனைத் தூறும் அறிவு’ (Thiruvalluvar, 396, Thirukkural) meaning ‘Knowledge Grows As Much As One Learns’ is inscribed is placed on the seal. Athiyaman and Avvaiyar refer to history and heritage; the book, sun and the humans refer to education and educational achievement; the tree refers to nature, sustenance and growth; the computer refers to technology; and the dam refers to the local landmark.
