The emblem of Akhil Bharatiya Maratha Ahikshan Parishad's Anantrao Pawar College of Engineering & Research (ABMSPCOER) features a portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘उतिष्टत जाग्रत प्राप्यवरान् निवोधत’ (Mantra 14, Valli 3, Chapter 1, Kathopanishad - part of the dialogue between Yama and Nachiketa)  meaning ‘Get up, Wake up and Listen to the Boons you have Received’. The circle is crested by a hand holding a Bichuwa (or Bichawa) (war knife or dagger), famously associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Maratha warriors and supported by a blue banner inscribed with the name of the Trust in Devanagari. The seal is supported by a pair of crossed saffron flags inscribed with ‘हर हर महादेव’ and ‘जय भवानी’ which are the slogans of the Maharashtra State. The portrait refers to one of the great patriots and nationalist of India and the associated motifs refers to his nationalistic instincts.

VALLABHACHARYA TILAK The tilak of Vallbhacharyas is said to consist of two white lines down the forehead, forming a half-circle at its base and a white dot between them. Vallabhacharya (1479–1531 CE) was a devotional philosopher, who founded the Pushti sect in India, following the philosophy of ‘Shuddha Advaita’ (Pure Non-dualism). THE JAMMU & KASHMIR LIGHT INFANTRY India's first Light Infantry was born out of the peoples' response in 1947, to the invasion of Kashmir by Pakistan. In the difficult days of the invasion, the population formed local defence groups. These were later organised into militias responsible for specific sectors, e.g., Leh, Nubra, Jammu, Punch, etc. Over a period, these were grouped into the Militia battalions. Two of these were later converted into the Ladakh Scouts. The militia battalions operated with skill on the Line of Control (LoC) and in the 1971 Indo-Pak War earned three battle honours. In 1972, the militia battalions were brought on par with the army units, and in 1976 designated the Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI). The 8th JAK LI earned great honour by capturing a Pakistani post at 21,000 feet at the Siachen Glacier in 1987. These are supported by a partial wheel of gear, in the counter of which its motto in Sanskrit ‘विश्वं ग्रामे प्रतिष्टितम्' meaning 'The World is Established from the Village' is inscribed.
