Below the shield, on a banner, the motto of the college ‘Arise and Shine’ is written. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the cross refers to Christianilty and the college’s religious affiliation; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the paddy refers to agriculture, nature, sustenance and growth; the star refers to divine guidance and blessings; and the handshake  refers to goodwill, agreement, or farewell, representing trust, respect, and equality.

DIRECTORATE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE SERVICES During 1983, the then Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C) under the overall guidance of an Expert Committee chaired by Prof. M. M. Sharma, FRS, recommended that the laboratories in Delhi, Calcutta and Hyderabad must be developed as Science and Technology institutions, functioning in an autonomous fashion. Accordingly, the Government of India declared the forensic science Institutions, as Science and Technology institutions. In the first phase, the three Central Forensic Science Laboratories at Calcutta, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh were restructured into six scientific division viz. Biology, Ballistics, Chemistry, Explosive, Physics and Toxicology. CENTRAL WATER COMMISSION The circular seal of the Central Water Commission has a five petalled flower with a water dam, a powerline on sea water, a borewell pump, plants of cereal and a high tension transmission line each placed inside a petal. The flower is placed in an orange circle and this assembly is ensconced by a yellow circular border, on which its name in Devanagari and English and its motto in Sanskrit ‘आपो ज्योति रसोऽमृतम’ meaning ‘May That Awakens Our Intelligence’ are inscribed. The motifs inside the petals refer to the applications of water in daily life of society.
