The emblem of Avinasi Gounder Mariammal College of Education (AGMCOE) features a circle inscribed with the letter ‘A’ inscribed with the college’s motto in Tamil ‘அறிவு உண்மை அழகு’ meaning ‘Knowledge Truth Beauty’ and a traditional lamp supported by an open book and a lotus, ensconced by a green circular border inscribed with the name of the college and its place. The seal is surmounted by a pair of laurels and supported by a red banner inscribed with the tagline of the college in Tamil ‘ஒளிர்வோம் ஒளிர்விப்போம்’ (Psalm 112:4) meaning ‘Shine and Let Shine’. The lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

MAULANA AZAD NATIONAL URDU UNIVERSITY Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University established by an Act of Parliament in 1998. The logo of the university has two strokes of orange and green forming the shape of ‘U’ in tricolour and has a ‘Ashoka Chakra’ at its top. This is supported by an open book on which images of an atom and a burning candle are depicted.
