The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the mortarboard hat with scroll denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage; and the colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

KALINGA INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) was established in 1992 as a vocational training centre with two staff and twelve students. KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans.
