VELLALAR COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (VELLALAR COE)

The circular emblem of Vellalar College of Education (Vellalar CoE) features the images of a temple with gopuram on a hillock above a waterbody, a ‘Pavaivilakku’ a statue of a lady with a lamp, a lotus supporting palm leaf manuscripts, a pair of ears of paddy and a pair of sugarcanes. The initials of the college ‘VCE’ are inscribed on a blue banner placed below the seal.  The lotus is the National Flower, which symbolises the blooming of young minds in the light of knowledge; the palm leaf manuscripts stands as the basic of our ancient educational traditions; the ‘Pavaivilakku’ brings out the importance of women’s education as the light of knowledge, emanating from educated women dispels the darkness of ignorance and guides us along the path of knowledge; and the temple on the hill focuses attention on the fact that it is only the Creator who can guide man in his pursuit of true knowledge and peace and lead him to the pinnacle of glory.

14 CORPS The 14 Corps of the Indian Army is a part of the Army’s Udhampur-based Northern Command. It was raised after the Kargil War in 1999, to control troops in Ladakh. It currently consists of 3rd Infantry Division. The division was created in October 1962 in Ladakh. It fought in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. Until 1990, it was headquartered at Kohima under III Corps. It is headquartered at Kumbathang, near Kargil. The sleeve patch of this Corps is red horizontal striped patch intersected with a white stripe in the background with two crossed torches (Vajra) with trident at their ends and wand in the foreground.

No. 15 Squadron NO 15 SQUADRON The No. 15 Squadron of Indian Air Force was formed on August 2, 1951 at Ambala. In 1983, the ‘Flying Lances’ were the first MiG-21 Bis squadron in the Air Force to be modified for the Matra Magic R55, air to air missiles. The squadron was again number plated in 2009 and re-raised in 2012 on the Su-30 at Sirsa AFS. The No. 15 Squadron’s motto is ‘Nihantavya Shatava’ meaning ‘Annihilate the Enemy’. This Squadron is also called ‘Flying Lances’. Its insignia has a flying lancer in the centre with a ball of fire background. It currently operates the Mikoyan MiG-21 from Jodhpur.

SHER-E-KASHMIR UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY KASHMIR Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) was founded in 1982 by an Act passed by the State Legislature of Jammu and Kashmir. The emblem of the university has a structure of a DNA housing a sheep, pine tree, an apple and heads of cereals placed in the background of mountains, rivers, grass and rising sun. This is topped by its motto ‘भावयविभोर्वै भवम्’ in Sanskrit and Kashmiri, which means ‘Feel the Power of the Lord’. BISWA BANGLA BISWABIDYALAY Biswa Bangla Biswabidyalay (BBB) was established in 2020 as a liberal arts university in Bolpur, West Bengal. This university is also known as Bolpur University or Biswa Bangla University. The emblem of the university has an open book with its acronym in Bengali written on it and crested by a blue circle depicting a human being and supported by the nib of a pen.
