The emblem of Velu Thampi Memorial College of Arts and Science (VTM College) features a yellow ochre colour shield with violet border inscribed with the images of Goddess Saraswati, the founder of the college, a pair of ‘kuthuvilakkus’ (traditional lamp) and a crossed hoe and a sword along with the motto of the college in Malayalam. A pair of laurels support the shield and a brown banner placed below the shield is inscribed with the text ‘V.T.M.C of A&S’. Goddess Saraswati embodies the essence of vach (speech), knowledge, and creative expression, symbolising the power to purify the self through the flow of wisdom and art. She represents the pursuit of knowledge and truth, free from the distractions and illusions of the material world. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamps symbolise light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the sword refers to valour, courage and protection; the hoe refers to agriculture and farming; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

14 CORPS The 14 Corps of the Indian Army is a part of the Army’s Udhampur-based Northern Command. It was raised after the Kargil War in 1999, to control troops in Ladakh. It currently consists of 3rd Infantry Division. The division was created in October 1962 in Ladakh. It fought in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. Until 1990, it was headquartered at Kohima under III Corps. It is headquartered at Kumbathang, near Kargil. The sleeve patch of this Corps is red horizontal striped patch intersected with a white stripe in the background with two crossed torches (Vajra) with trident at their ends and wand in the foreground.

No. 15 Squadron NO 15 SQUADRON The No. 15 Squadron of Indian Air Force was formed on August 2, 1951 at Ambala. In 1983, the ‘Flying Lances’ were the first MiG-21 Bis squadron in the Air Force to be modified for the Matra Magic R55, air to air missiles. The squadron was again number plated in 2009 and re-raised in 2012 on the Su-30 at Sirsa AFS. The No. 15 Squadron’s motto is ‘Nihantavya Shatava’ meaning ‘Annihilate the Enemy’. This Squadron is also called ‘Flying Lances’. Its insignia has a flying lancer in the centre with a ball of fire background. It currently operates the Mikoyan MiG-21 from Jodhpur.

The emblem of the university has a structure of a DNA housing a sheep, pine tree, an apple and heads of cereals placed in the background of mountains, rivers, grass and rising sun. This is topped by its motto ‘भावयविभोर्वै भवम्’ in Sanskrit and Kashmiri, which means ‘Feel the Power of the Lord’. BISWA BANGLA BISWABIDYALAY Biswa Bangla Biswabidyalay (BBB) was established in 2020 as a liberal arts university in Bolpur, West Bengal. This university is also known as Bolpur University or Biswa Bangla University. The emblem of the university has an open book with its acronym in Bengali written on it and crested by a blue circle depicting a human being and supported by the nib of a pen.
