The red and blue shield-shaped emblem of Best College of Education (BCE) houses the motifs of a glowing sun with an open book, a gearwheel with an open book and a  star, and the letters ‘B’ and ‘E’. A pair of peacocks sit atop the shield along with a partial globe. On a banner placed below the shield the name of the college is written. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the sun refers to represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the books refer to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the gearwheel refers to science, engineering and technology; the globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; and the peacocks symbolise regrowth, rejuvenation, royalty, respect, honour, integrity, beauty, love and passion.

DIRECTORATE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE SERVICES During 1983, the then Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C) under the overall guidance of an Expert Committee chaired by Prof. M. M. Sharma, FRS, recommended that the laboratories in Delhi, Calcutta and Hyderabad must be developed as Science and Technology institutions, functioning in an autonomous fashion. Accordingly, the Government of India declared the forensic science Institutions, as Science and Technology institutions. In the first phase, the three Central Forensic Science Laboratories at Calcutta, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh were restructured into six scientific division viz. Biology, Ballistics, Chemistry, Explosive, Physics and Toxicology. The flower is placed in an orange circle and this assembly is ensconced by a yellow circular border, on which its name in Devanagari and English and its motto in Sanskrit ‘आपो ज्योति रसोऽमृतम’ meaning ‘May That Awakens Our Intelligence’ are inscribed. The motifs inside the petals refer to the applications of water in daily life of society.
